“Yarn Talk” by Tracy Kaestner
Ever wondered what the numbers mean on weaving yarns and why the same number in cotton, linen and cottolin don’t give you the same size yarn? The weaving yarn numbering system can be a bit confusing. Tracy will discuss (and hopefully de-mystify) how the weaving yarn numbering system works, how to calculate how many yards per pound in any yarn, and how best to use those yarns. There will be a hands-on activity to help familiarize everyone with different yarn types and sizes with a handout to take home.

We invite you to stay after the meeting for a casual gathering. Bring a sack lunch or order in. Bring your UFO’s (Unfinished Projects). We will coach you through hand hemming, fringe twisting or whatever kind of support you need to bring a project to completion. Or stay and visit!
