silk shawlMy weavings are inspired by nature and influenced by other artistic works. I love to play with color as well as texture in my weavings. After learning to weave in college at the University of Wisconsin Stout, my first loom was acquired, an 8 harness Kessnich. I didn’t weave much until my second child was born and I became a stay at home mom.For years I wove shaggy rag rugs made from selvage guide.

When we moved to Overland Park, KS, I became active in the Kansas City Fiber Guild. I began weaving mostly wearable’s of natural fibers (ruanas, jackets, scarves, and shawls). My works were sold at the annual guild sale and at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. On moving to the Houston area my weaving became more refined as I was influenced by the wonderful weavers in CHH. I now also weave on an 8 harness 24in. baby Macomber loom. My current weavings include cottolin towels and hand dyed scarves. I am active in CHH, currently holding my 2nd term as secretary and am active in the WOW study group and Show and Sale.
