Guild House Gallery is our consignment shop space for the Contemporary Handweavers of Houston. Opened in May, 2015, Guild House Gallery will sell a selection of handmade items by CHH members during the Guild House open hours.

- All Hands on Deck!

The regular meeting program will be devoted to getting things prepped for the upcoming CHT conference. We need your help on a variety of jobs. There will be sit-down jobs, high-on-a-ladder jobs, lots of dusting in the library and floor cleaning. The Guild House Gallery must look gorgeous for the reception on June 1. Bring snack items suitable for a hearty lunch as we expect most members will stay until the job is done.
At Saturday’s meeting we will also begin selling raffle tickets for the tapestry that just came off the high back loom. The inspiration source was a photo from at Barbara Bartholomew’s dentist’s office. We don’t know where the photo was taken.
The drawing will be done during the Fashion Show Reception on Saturday evening at the CHT Conference. Anyone not a local CHH member will need to pick it up at the conference, but our members may claim it at the Guild House later on.
Tickets are $5.00 apiece or 3 for $10.00.

All checks need to be received by May 31st. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the Lone Star Loom Room booth in the Vendor Hall at the CHT conference. Proceeds of the Raffle to benefit CHH.
- Guild House Gallery – Check In for ConferenceThose of you who have indicated you will be bringing in items for the Gallery; the official check-in date is Saturday, May 13th, from 10 – 2. Please bring a completed inventory form with you. If you cannot make that date, please complete an inventory form and contract, if you have not exhibited before, and place it with your items in a bag addressed to me. Place your bag in the Guild House office any time prior to the 13th. Make sure your items can be identified by the inventory sheet description. . No items will be accepted after the 13th. If you are unable to retrieve the inventory form from the March or April newsletter, let me know and I’ll email one to you.Thank you all – Pat Powell (email in the members’ directory)
- Gallery Reopens!
Guild House Gallery Reopens for Last Minute Holiday Shopping!
The Gallery will be set up on Saturday, Nov 26th, between 11 and 2. We will once again have a somewhat larger area with many more items on display than usual. This will allow those who were unable to get to the Sale or those who have realized they need additional items for the holidays an additional opportunity to acquire the desired pieces. Even if you have never done so before, please consider bringing in your pieces for the Gallery.

- Guild House Gallery – August 2016
There will be some open space in the Gallery in a couple of weeks. Please think about what you can bring for check in on Saturday, August 20th. Items will be accepted after the general meeting beginning at noon.
We are primarily a weaving organization but include all the fiber arts. Any fiber art created by our members will be considered (it must be made of fiber or done with a fiber technique). Let me know if you are bringing something and what it might be. I want to make sure there is plenty of room. My email address in is the Member Directory. This would be a great time to bring in a couple of pieces you have ready for the Annual Sale. Everyone loves a ‘sneak’ preview.

- New Work in the Gallery
A great new selection of items has been checked into the Guild House Gallery. It is a wonderful sampling of the fantastic work done by our members. Let your friends know (and we don’t want you to forget) that the Gallery will be open all summer; the same hours as the Guild House – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 – 4.
The Gallery has items available year ’round so no one will have to wait for the annual sale to pick out a great gift for family member, a friend or themselves. Hope to see you over the summer.
