Each year members of Contemporary Handweavers of Houston and other area guilds provide hours of volunteer work demonstrating weaving and spinning (and a variety of interlacements such as knitting, crocheting and kumihimo) to the thousands of visitors to Agventure at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
This year we will demonstrate February 28 - March 18, 2012. The HLS is one of CHH’s annual demonstration venues. Our organization gives many hours of spinning and weaving demonstrations using wool, mohair, angora rabbit and llama. This is an opportunity to educate the community
concerning the use of natural fibers through a wool-to-wardrobe fashion show, educational demonstrations, and exhibits. Fleece is provided for spinning.
Weavers, spinners, other fiber crafters and educators are invited to participate starting Feburary 28. Look at the Livestock Show schedule to see when weavers and spinners are needed, then email Blaine with your sign up choices.
