Please note that the date of the opening reception for “Material Matrix” has been changed to Thursday, October 21, 7:00-9:00 p.m. The exhibit and reception will be at M-Squared Gallery, located in the Heights at 339 19th Street. The building is the old Heights Theater – it’s very easy to spot.
CHH will NOT have a monthly meeting at Bayou Manor on the 21st. INSTEAD of the monthly meeting, CHH members should plan to attend the opening reception. The purpose of this exhibit is to celebrate CHH’s 60th anniversary, so it’s entirely fitting that the opening reception will be on a meeting date. Awards will be presented at the reception, and there will be the usual spread of food and drink.
The program which Pat Spark was to have presented at the meeting will be presented on Saturday, October 23 at the gallery. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., CHH will host a tour of the exhibit, guided by DeeDee Woodbury, followed by Pat Spark’s lecture on her travels among the felt makers of Kyrgyzstan. Again, there will be the usual spread of food and drink.
This is going to be a lovely event, and I hope to see everyone there. Both the reception and the gallery talk are open to the public, so spread the word!! Bring your friends and family members, and let’s have a great party!!
