Diane here, PAST President of the guild, with a report on a meeting that Mary W. and I went to on August 5, 2015. The Guild House is located in the East End Cultural District and we are trying to participate in the events and activities that they are promoting. The last big Open House they scheduled got rained out (remember rain?). NOTE: Cancelled: The next one is on September 26 and 27. We are usually open on Saturdays so that will coincide with our schedule of guild sitters. Of course, more activity in the GH on that day would be more impressive so if you have a project that you can work on here, plan to join us! The East End’s Farmers Market is always open from 11-3 on Sundays and so the 27th will be more about the market and the artists who rent booths there.

Committees were formed to work on Programming to shape events, Branding to identify neighborhood businesses, and Marketing using social media and PR releases and email blasts as well as their website and a map of the area.

The EE Cultural District has lots of events planned – Oct 17 from 12-8 is a Street Festival on Navigation and Oct 10 they will host a ticketed dinner for 50 to 60 participants at the Capital Street Gallery featuring a fabulous menu by Chef Ara of The Roaming Kitchen. They will also be raising funds with personalized bricks on the esplanade. The guild has an opportunity to be a contributing partner in the neighborhood and hopefully it will be mutually beneficial.
