CHH is hosting a Night of Shopping 7:00 until 9:00 pm on November 18 at Bayou Manor. The sale of handwoven and handcrafted gift items will benefit Community Cloth and Mayan Hands.
Mayan Hands is a non-profit organization founded under the initiative of anthropologist Brenda Rosenbaum and currently directed by Deborah Chandler to aid the weavers in Guatemala. All profits go directly to the craftsmen and women. Community Cloth is a new group located in Houston and is made up of refugees from Bhutan, Nepal and Burma. They have relocated to Houston and have formed a nonprofit group to sell their hand work here in their new home.
