Mini-Maker Faire

by | Oct 27, 2015

CHH will be hosting a hands-on weaving project for Houston Mini-Maker Faire on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, downtown, Hall 3B. This could be our next big venue to reaching a new generation of weavers! Let me know by email if you are interested in volunteering! Shift hours are 9 am-2 and 1-6 pm.

There is construction going on downtown and the street in front is limited to one lane in each direction. Parking is being consumed by new building projects. Consult maps first! They expect 5000 attendees and there are four other things happening at the GRB that day.

Children’s Museum will be there with lots of activities. HP will have a truck with Sprout in it. A school bus converted into a maker space will be parked inside the hall. Crazy big stuff. There will be a 4 foot high (I think I heard that right) working CRANE made out of Legos. Drones flying at one end of the hall and a robotics field in another. And just think… we won’t be stepping over cow patties on the way to our table as we used to do when we demonstrated at Livestock Show and Rodeo.
