Linda Thompson volunteered to be the Group Leader through June of 2015. At that time another member will take on the responsibility.
PROGRAMS FOR 2015
For each month’s program a member will present a topic she wishes to share with the group. The member can enlist the help of any other members to execute the program. If there will be a cost incurred for the program it must be presented to the group for approval before scheduling. Costs will be paid by individuals who will attend. All program leaders will communicate with Linda Thompson as to the particulars so information can be placed on the CHH website and in the newsletter. If a member finds for some reason she is unable to meet her commitment for the month scheduled it will be her responsibility to trade months with another member so that a program can be presented. The length of the program can be anywhere from ½ an hour to 1 and ½ hours, the remaining ½ hour being for Show and Tell. Show and tell will follow the program. Everyone is encouraged to bring their art, finished, unfinished, a work in progress, whatever! The idea is to share, to learn, to be inspired, and to inspire.

It was decided that our main communication method will be through the CHH website and newsletter. No other additional website or yahoo group will be needed. As current Leader all information to be put out to either the website or the newsletter will go through Linda.
For a “Mission Statement” for our new group we decided to use the old HAFA one as a guide. Everyone present felt it was important the “statement” impart the idea of our sharing our art with one another and with the public.
CHH’S FIBER STUDY GROUP- MISSION STATEMENT
The Fiber Study Group has been formed to give artists interested in creating one of a kind original pieces of art using fiber or fiber techniques, a place to share and learn their art. The art making can include but is not limited to: basket making, clothing, dolls, felting, books and paper, collage, jewelry, quilts, stitchery, knitting, weaving and dyeing.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Our meetings are the second Wednesday of each month from 10 AM to 12:00 PM in the new Guild House at 2327 Commerce Street, Houston.
All members are invited to participate. We also encourage the general public to visit us and see if we’re a fit for their creative explorations of the world of fiber art. All regular attendees must be a member of CHH.
